CEO and Founder Julie Hurwitz launched Songbird Creative to guide artists and songwriters through the world of licensing and tech. She has worked with some of the most well-known catalogues and songwriters in the world and believes that making meaningful connections, continuous learning and attention to detail are the keys to building an artist’s career. The most important part, of course, is always the music.

Listen.  Really listen.  What does the song make you feel?  What do the lyrics mean to you?  To the artist?  To devise the most effective strategy, these questions must come first.  Once we understand the heart of a song, we can determine where it might work best.

Technology

Learn about new tech.  Meet the people creating it.  Make sure your systems are speaking to each other. Simplify and automate where possible.  How can we best use tech to monetize clients’ work?
