WHO WE ARE

Founder and CEO Julie Hurwitz created Songbird Creative to advise music rights holders on how to amplify the value and exposure of their art and to help brands navigate the mercurial music world. For over 20 years, she has worked with some of the most beloved artists, songwriters and brands in the world. Making meaningful connections and attention to detail is essential. The most important part, of course, is always the music.

comes first

Listen.  Really listen.  What does the song make you feel?  What do the lyrics mean to you?  To the artist?  To devise the most effective strategy, these questions must come first.  Once we understand the heart of a song, we can determine where it might work best.

Research
and more research

Read.  Read some more.  What trends are happening in content creation? In the world?  What projects are in production?  What cycles or events are on the horizon? What does your brand want to say?  Where does the music fit into that landscape?  ABB.  Always Be Brainstorming.

Embrace
Technology

Learn about new tech.  Meet the people creating it.  Make sure your systems are speaking to each other. Simplify and automate where possible.  How can we best use tech to monetize clients’ work? 

Communicate
openly and honestly

Get on the phone.  Or even better, connect face to face.  Talk to people about their projects.  Their vision.  Their hurdles.  Be a helpful partner.  Offer suggestions.  Help your clients always - even if the song isn’t something you represent.  Let your partners know they can always depend on you.
